Presscloud vs ANP
All-in-one PR software or
the distribution network of a news agency?
Worth flagging right away: these aren't exactly the same products. Presscloud is PR software that helps you write press releases and send them to a selection of relevant journalists. ANP Connect, the business label of ANP, distributes your release across the ANP-net. Below we compare what can be compared: costs, approach, and when each tool works best.

What are you really comparing?
Two different tools
Presscloud: all-in-one PR software
- Self-service platform: use smart tools to write a press release and build a targeted press list in just a few minutes.
- A database of 15,000 journalists in NL & BE, and around 80,000 worldwide, including the US, UK and France.
- Send, follow up, analyze and monitor coverage, all in the same account.
- Built for ongoing PR work at an affordable price.
ANP Connect: distribution & services
- Distributes press releases via the ANP-net, which according to ANP reaches 95% of Dutch media, straight into newsroom systems.
- Adds a journalist database, the ANP Agenda and media monitoring on request.
- Full-service offerings: writing service, photography, video and expert communication.
- Runs separately from the independent ANP news desk: distribution is not editorial pickup.
Cost comparison
What does sending a press release cost?
This is where the contrast is greatest. There are several pricing plans, with big differences in price.
All ANP amounts come from the official ANP Connect pricing page (last updated July 7, 2026, checked July 21, 2026); VAT status not stated. Presscloud prices are excl. VAT.

If you work this out for, say, six press releases a year, that costs at least ± €3,000 with ANP Connect (6 × €499, trade/regional) and €4,770 via the ANP-net (6 × €795), against €1,548 per year with Presscloud Essential. This calculation is our own analysis based on the published rates, not a provider price. What you get back for it differs substantially: the ANP-net is a channel Presscloud doesn't offer, and Presscloud features (AI, CRM, monitoring) aren't part of a standalone ANP send.

- "95% of Dutch media" is ANP's own reach claim about the ANP-net; we were not able to verify it independently.
- ANP Connect operates separately from the independent ANP news desk. Distribution via the ANP-net means visibility with editors, not editorial pickup, and the same goes for sending via Presscloud.
- The VAT status of ANP's rates is not stated; Presscloud prices are explicitly excl. VAT.
The differences explained
Three trade-offs that really matter
The power of the ANP-net
- No PR platform places your release straight into the newsroom systems of major Dutch news media.
- For news with national weight (a big appointment, an acquisition, research results), that visibility is hard to arrange any other way.
- And you pay for it: €795 per national send, or €4,990 per year unlimited.
Ongoing vs. per event
- PR is rarely a single moment; if you have news more often, you want to build relationships and learn what works.
- Ongoing PR software lets you refine press lists, personalize pitches, monitor coverage and fill your newsroom.
- That workflow doesn't come with a one-off send, whatever the provider.
Do it yourself or outsource
- ANP Connect takes work off your hands: an editor who writes or edits, plus photography, video and expert positioning.
- If you have budget but no time or writing experience, you're buying in quality.
- Presscloud handles the writing with smart tools at a fraction of the price. The DIY option without giving up on quality.
