After weeks of voting, exciting twists, and an unprecedented fight at the top, the winners of the 'PR Publieksprijs' have been announced. Hundreds of votes poured in over the past weeks, with the public massively showing which campaigns and stunts they believed made the most impact in the Dutch PR landscape.
PR Campaign of the Year
In the PR Campaign category, the battle raged until the very last moment. Various nominees swapped positions multiple times during the voting period, leaving it unclear for a long time who would ultimately take the victory.
But... in the end, Sunny Cars gathered the most votes and can call itself the winner of the 'Gouden Veer' 2025!
Car rental company Sunny Cars was particularly visible in human-interest travel stories. The company then joined forces with PR agency nxt.agency. This led to Sunny Cars taking on a new role in the media. By sharing internal car rental statistics and research results about the pain points of Dutch holidaymakers, they became a thought leader in the car rental sector. Sunny Cars has become an authority that media are eager to consult for advice and explanations about car rental.
PR Stunt of the Year
In the PR Stunt category, it remained tense until the polls closed. The differences were minimal, and the top position changed hands frequently. At the end of the race, none other than Stage Magic came out on top and won the 'Gekke Geit' 2025!
We'd also like to highlight that case. On the occasion of the opening of 'The Last Days Of Pompeii', a legion of Roman soldiers took over Brussels' Grand Place, including the city hall. After negotiations with the mayor, peace was restored. The stunt generated a lot of user-created content and was very successful, both organically and paid. The campaign was later adopted for the opening of the expo in Barcelona. Just goes to show: good stunts keep working.
On behalf of the whole Presscloud team, we congratulate both winners of this first-ever 'PR Publieksprijs' 2025!
The Voice of the Public
The aim of the 'PR Publieksprijs' was not only to reward creative and impactful PR but also to give the public a voice within the world of PR. It was precisely this public involvement that made this edition extra special. Nominees actively mobilized their network to garner as many votes as possible.
The 2025 edition has demonstrated how vibrant PR is. From large national campaigns to notable activations and smart stunts: the diversity and creativity within the field were clearly visible in all entries.
Here's to an even better year, in which we hope to witness a lot of cool PR stunts and campaigns. Here's to the 'PR Publieksprijs' 2026!
