Media Monitoring API: every mention in your own software
The Presscloud Media Monitoring API brings your search profiles and mentions into your own software: as JSON or through webhooks, already checked for relevance. No raw stream of articles to filter yourself, only what's really about you.
No credit card needed.

Your monitoring is stuck in a dashboard
Agencies paste mentions into client reports. Comms teams copy them into Slack or their own dashboard. Software companies rebuild monitoring themselves. It's manual work, and it always lags behind the news.
The Media Monitoring API removes that step: mentions arrive directly in the software you already use.
| What you get | News API | Media Monitoring API |
|---|---|---|
| Content | Every article in the index | Only mentions for your search profiles |
| Who decides what's relevant | You, with search terms | We do, by meaning and context |
| New results | You fetch them yourself | Through webhooks too |
Jaguar the car, or the jaguar in the rainforest?
A keyword finds every article that says "Jaguar". Our AI reads the article and checks it against the context of your search profile. The car brand gets the car news, the nature charity gets the wildlife news, and a guitar or a football team never gets through.
How the AI sorts these real headlines between the two search profiles:
- Jaguar Type 01: ‘the last-chance saloon’ for the marque: Jaguar · Car brand, Main subject
- Jaguar arrives at San Jose zoo: Jaguar · Nature, Main subject
- Fender American Professional Classic Jaguar & Jazzmaster: Filtered out, About a guitar
- JLR's 2027 EV Roadmap: Range Rover Electric, Jaguar Type 01 and New Defender EV Lead Electrification Push: Jaguar · Car brand, Mentioned
- Mesker Park Zoo mourns the loss of long-time jaguar Beliza: Jaguar · Nature, Main subject
- Fairbairn’s last-second 49-yard FG gives Texans 34-31 win over Jaguars at Wembley Stadium: Filtered out, About an American football team
- You describe what you mean in plain language
- The AI reads the whole article, not just the word
- Every mention says whether you're the main subject or just mentioned
What the API does
The same monitoring that runs every day for Presscloud customers, reachable straight from your own software.
- Search profiles
- Set what you follow: your brand, a competitor or a topic. With the context that says what you mean, so "Mercurius" is your coffee bar and not the planet.
- Mentions that are already checked
- Every mention is checked: is it really about you, and how prominently? Namesakes and passing references drop out before they reach your system.
- Competitors next to your own brand
- Follow competitors in the same stream, labelled per profile. Then work out your share of voice with your own tools.
- Media value per publication
- An estimate of what a publication is worth, the same value you see in the Presscloud dashboard.
- Publications linked to your press releases
- See which mention came from which press release, without matching them yourself.
- Webhooks for every new mention
- No polling: your system gets a signal as soon as we find a new mention.
What a mention looks like
A response from the mentions endpoint and the message your webhook receives. Every mention comes with outlet and relevance, plus author and media value where available.
