Presscloud has a new graduate intern: Gijs Tielemans. This is his final-year internship, so we hope he’ll learn a lot. And if, as a bonus, he can help make our company a little better in the process, it’s a win-win for everyone. To get to know him a bit better, we asked him five questions.

Gijs, you just started as an intern at Presscloud. How do you view the upcoming period?

I'm really looking forward to it. Presscloud is at an interesting intersection where AI, PR, and data converge, and it seems incredibly educational to be part of that. I hope to learn a lot in the coming months about how PR and AI work together behind the scenes and will try to contribute value to the company myself at the same time.

Do you already have much experience in the business world?

During my studies at Hotelschool The Hague and beyond, I gained practical experience. For instance, I worked at Sofitel Melbourne during my internship and also worked in the hospitality industry and as a hockey trainer/coach. Through this, I have learned how businesses operate, how important service and communication are, and how to work professionally in teams.

As you know by now, Presscloud is a PR platform. Do you have experience with PR?

I don't have much direct PR experience yet, but I've always been interested in it. During my studies and work, I've seen how important good communication and visibility are for companies. Additionally, I've regularly been involved in projects or events during sports and studies that gained attention within a community or organization.

What can people expect from you? On which tasks will you focus, for instance?

I'm someone who is curious and likes to take initiative. At Presscloud, I'll primarily focus on business development, growth, and international expansion, for example by looking at opportunities in markets like the UK and the US. Additionally, I'd find it interesting to think about how data and AI can be used to make PR processes smarter.

When your internship ends in 4 months, what do you hope to have learned?

I hope I will have gained a good understanding of how the PR world operates and the role technology plays in it. Additionally, I want to have learned a lot about marketing, business growth, and international business development. It would be great if I could also actually contribute to projects that have impacted Presscloud's growth. Moreover, I want to have developed myself as a person and professional and be ready for the future.
