Record number of new accounts: what does that mean?

August and September were record months in terms of newly created accounts on Presscloud. That's great! In this blog, we shed some light on it.

| Presscloud editorial

You read that right. August and September were record months in terms of newly created accounts on Presscloud. Now, we could praise ourselves highly and attribute all the success to our own efforts. Or, we could analyze it and draw conclusions that outline a much broader movement. Small spoiler: we did the latter (otherwise, this blog wouldn't exist).

Record numbers

A word about those record numbers: we imagine you are incredibly curious about their exact height. That's understandable, but we adhere more to 'a gentleman doesn't kiss and tell'. Let's just say that if you add up the number of accounts created in August and September, you are roughly at the number for the entire year of 2022. We can certainly confirm significant progress. But what else can we determine?

Startups

We see an enormous number of startups onboarding—companies founded after 2015. Relatively young companies with a great story, a cool concept, or a new, revolutionary approach. We notice that representatives of these companies are incredibly enthusiastic and have a thousand-and-one plans.

At the same time, this gives them a full schedule. PR is a welcome addition to their operations, but not a priority (after all, busy busy busy). They use our smart applications to have a press release written, a press list compiled, and their press release sent within 5 minutes. This group uses Presscloud to loudly proclaim their story because they don't directly have the time, knowledge, or network for it. Welcome!

Agencies

We also see many Agency accounts being created—agencies that oversee multiple companies or serve multiple clients. Here too, the reason was quickly clear: adding PR to your service offering can distinguish their agency from the competition and enhance the value for their clients. After all, PR increases visibility and credibility of clients, promotes long-term client relationships, and enhances growth opportunities for the agency itself. A practical example to avoid remaining too superficial.

Imagine you work at a creative communication agency, called Etjes Netjes. One of your clients (read: customers) is Hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden, a water board in, among others, the province of Utrecht. Not inherently a very popular topic, and low turnout for the water board elections posed a threatening problem. But, with good brainstorming sessions, thorough market research, and creative meetings, you managed to create a cool campaign, distributed on socials and billboards. To reinforce it, you write a press release about the campaign via Presscloud, which you then share widely with the media. Publications follow, and suddenly your campaign enjoys a much larger reach! That's the power of combining your own creative agency with the PR of Presscloud.

Conclusion

Identifying the above segmentation has been extremely valuable for the company. It allows us to better respond to the needs of the users. Of course, there are many other users who, in turn, also deserve the time and attention they need. Presscloud is for everyone, and no question goes unanswered. Not even if there is an abundance of new accounts. On to even greater numbers in October!
