The company

De Vakantiebank Foundation is an initiative by volunteers and socially involved entrepreneurs and is a CBF Certified Charity. In the Netherlands, many families live on an income around or even below the welfare threshold. They can never go on a holiday. De Vakantiebank wants to change that and offers them a free holiday week in the Netherlands. This is made possible thanks to donors, volunteers, and companies who provide their support free of charge.

Various studies show that holiday experiences make an important contribution to a positive self-image and increase the physical and psychological resilience of people living in poverty. De Vakantiebank wishes every family this form of relaxation, because every child needs a carefree childhood. After all, everyone deserves a holiday! 

The campaign

The campaign was: 'Bring Color to Black Saturday with De Vakantiebank'. On Black Saturday, many depart on vacation, but 400,000 Dutch families cannot afford it and stay home. De Vakantiebank wants to assist these families by offering free holidays, which promotes their well-being and health.

On Black Saturday, volunteers draw attention to these home-stayers in a fun way by waving off holidaymakers and informing them about the possibility to donate €7.50 via a QR code—enough to give a child a day of holiday. In addition, De Vakantiebank calls on vacation home owners to make accommodations available so more families can enjoy a well-deserved holiday.

Guidance from Presscloud

Besides some initial calls and emails, De Vakantiebank requested a demo with us. The results
