The last time a Presscloud user sent out a press release in collaboration with a football club, it was an immense success (as also shown in this blog). The case we are highlighting now is equally impressive! An overview.
The organizations
Similar to the previous blog - that involved Woolsocks and Vitesse - this campaign also involves multiple organizations: fashion company Don’t Waste Culture and football club Go Ahead Eagles. Both are worth highlighting:
Don’t Waste Culture positions itself as more than just a fashion label: they aim to be the discoverers of the unknown, the architects of curiosity, and the guardians of inspiration. Each of their designs is a canvas, a testament to the richness of human experience, an ode to unsung heroes and forgotten stories that shape the world.
Go Ahead Eagles: speaking of heroes. ‘Kowet’ is a football club from Deventer, a true community club. The stadium - De Adelaarshorst - is situated right in a residential neighborhood. The club plays in the top division of Dutch professional football, the Eredivisie, and is particularly known for its flair. Bold and attacking football, fans delighted with every goal and point earned. But they aimed for more. Last year, they won the KNVB Cup, allowing them to play European football this season. Despite expectations being low, they have already won 2 out of 4 matches. A fairy tale in the making!
The news
With the main players clear, let’s move on to the news. With some press releases, you secretly know in advance it’s going to be a success, purely because it’s just such a great scoop. This was also the case for Don’t Waste Culture’s press release, where they announced their launch of a clothing line in collaboration with Go Ahead Eagles for their European campaign. This is sure to make the heart of every supporter with a yellow/red heart beat faster, especially after seeing the beautiful campaign images.
As we have said many times: product launches always do well. It’s new, and therefore already news for 5 of the 6 letters. This can be a physical product, such as this new clothing collection, or it can involve a new service: when Presscloud launched Annie, it attracted both large Dutch and international media.
The guidance from Presscloud
Initially, there was an email from Karel Kloeze, Chief Commercial of Don’t Waste Culture. The email led to a call, and things progressed quickly from there. The press release only needed a bit of tweaking, and of course, subheadings had to be added for structure.
While Karel managed that, we created a diverse media list with journalists who write about multiple categories. Because although this news seems primarily interesting for the fashion and sports world, there are more media to approach. First, we added a whole layer of local media, and given the brilliance of the collaboration, we also involved the marketing world.
The results
The press release not only resulted in placements in FashionUnited and Textilia, but also, for example, in DeventerNieuws, De Stentor, the official website of GAE, and even Marketing Tribune. An extremely successful campaign. Let's hope they both continue this successful streak!
