Imagine working at a company where everything runs smoothly. There are enough happenings, some cool projects in the works, and there is growth and innovation. Yet, these great projects and updates are barely shared with the outside world (aside from an occasional newsletter). It's a pity because these are essential parts of your company of which you are proud, and people should know about them!
Time for a change
So, you decide to change this: finally, you will implement PR, the long-neglected child. First, you need news. Check; there's plenty of it in the company. Next, you need to write a professional press release. That becomes a bit more difficult, especially if there is no experienced copywriter on staff. And then, a list of relevant media, that’s another thing. Fortunately, a search on Google quickly leads you to Presscloud, the PR platform that combines everything in one.
The above scenario has occurred many times, as we have found out through calls. Nevertheless, it is still a long way from initial thought to actual execution. Creating an account is a breeze, as well as having AI tools from Presscloud generate both a press release and a press list. However, progress often stalls due to a lack of urgency or support. Until now, you have always managed without PR, so it isn't deemed necessary. News flash! You don’t know what you’re missing; PR offers more benefits than you think.
Recent use cases
Recently, we have seen many first-timers for whom PR has been an immediate match. Below, we highlight a few of them so you can draw inspiration and hopefully, in time, start yourself.
KubeDNA: This company launched an alternative to Big Tech at the end of June together with Leafcloud, and this news was published via Presscloud on Dutch IT Channel, Emerce, and Drimble.
Advertease operates in a fairly niche market, but their first press release about the introduction of their new technology secured publications on Emerce, Digitailing, Computable, dVO, and Profacility.
New Things Lab sent their first press release about the launch of a genuine Kickstarter hit: a minimalist timer. It resulted in publications at Dutchcowboys, Emerce, Productnieuws.nl, and Leeuwarder Courant.
Aquablu, 'the Nespresso of water taps', raised €7 million and communicated this through Presscloud. It reached the Dutch media, like Quote, Vectrix, and M&A, but also the international media, like Silicon Canals and Vestbee.
Silva.builders sent a press release about their first 3D-printed break area for Qbuzz drivers. The news resulted in publications at AD, Transport Online, Oozo.nl, and WaldNet.
Kevlinx published the news that they were further intensifying their collaboration with Colt. This strategic partnership was published on ITDaily, Dutch IT Channel, Dutch IT Leaders, and Computable.
Green Positive: perhaps saving the best for last. They announced a new pilot during the Nijmegen Four Days Marches 2025: food will be served on reusable dishes for the first time. This news was spread by the Gelderlander, the Algemeen Dagblad, BN De Stem, PZC, Into Nijmegen, de Stentor, and De Brug Nijmegen.
Getting started yourself
The examples above illustrate that product launches, collaborations, acquisitions, investments, and sustainability initiatives do well. However, there are many more forms of news. In a previous blog, we already outlined five ways to create news. Later, we delved deeper into hard news, and what type of news is (un)suitable for a press release. You do not need to reinvent the wheel; you can also adopt the best practices from us!
If you're reading this and thinking: 'Interesting, but certainly this will take me a lot of time?' Then we have good news for you. With Presscloud, you can have a campaign ready within 5 minutes from creating an account. Don't believe it? Come see & find out!
