A question we often receive is: can I upload my own contacts? Absolutely! And we've now made it even easier.
Starting today, you can add tags to your own contacts, making it even easier to organize and manage your CRM for PR. You can then filter all your own contacts based on these tags when browsing the database.
User requests
As you know, Presscloud continues to innovate and improve constantly. But what you might not know is that many of those improvements come from you, our valued users. Last year, we even published a blog, where we specifically attributed the implemented changes to the user who requested them.
This new functionality also comes from a user. Or rather, a potential user. During a demo, this request came up, and two days later, it was live. That's how quickly things can happen at Presscloud!
Using tags
Optimal use of this new functionality starts when uploading your contacts. Imagine you've built a whole network of media relationships over the years. One journalist writes about financial news at FD, while another reviews Amsterdam restaurants for Parool. For the first journalist, the category 'Finance' might suffice, but for the second, a category like 'Food & Drink' isn't quite enough. You want to add the tag 'Food critic' there. And now you can!
Another example is when you have 10 different press lists in your own file, neatly segmented by category, region, etc. Previously, you could upload all these press lists, but they would then end up in a single heap under the group 'Own Contacts'. The careful segmentation you had with your own lists suddenly vanished. Now, by adding tags, you can give all contacts from press list C the tag: “Culture Press List”.
No searching
A super handy functionality, of course, but where can you filter by the different tags? You can do this by expanding Media on the left side of your dashboard. Then click on Journalists. If you turn off the 'Presscloud Database' filter, you'll see only your own contacts. And voila, a dropdown menu appears with 'Tags'.
If anything is still unclear or if there is something that can be improved, feel free to let us know. Often it goes live the next day!
