In this blog, in honor of our 5th anniversary, we won't be telling you about all that Presscloud has achieved. Instead, we focus on who helped make this milestone possible: you, our users!
No milestone without people
Five years of Presscloud is not just an anniversary, but also a thank you. Because what once started as an idea about accessible PR truly became something only when companies, communication advisors, and journalists started working with it. They showed us what works, and what does not.
We built a platform, but ultimately it was our users who gave it direction. Every question, every obstacle, and every creative workaround was a mirror: of how PR looks in practice, to how we could improve our software.
Small companies, big lessons
Our first users were often small entrepreneurs with big stories, such as EventInsight, WijnSpijs, KunstPakket, HoneyDew, AYCE, and Unpluq. They taught us that PR is not about budgets, but about courage. About daring to share what truly matters. Thanks to them, we discovered that simplicity is not a limitation, but a necessity: when you have little time, everything must be right.
An example we will never forget: Barqo, a platform that connects renters and boat owners, which with one genuine story immediately reached national media through an interview on RTL EditieNL. Not because there was a large PR team behind it, but because the story hit the mark. That moment showed us that the power of good PR lies not in the size of the company, but in the authenticity of the message.
The growth of our users = our growth
When larger organizations joined, such as Orderchamp and Visma Connect, new questions arose: how do you work with multiple accounts within one team? How do you maintain an overview with dozens of campaigns at once? How do you make results measurable? Much of what now feels natural in Presscloud, from team functions to smart data insights, began with one specific need from a user who needed just a little more.
We grew not only in functionalities (often directly coming from the users), but also in understanding what PR means today. It became less of a tool and more of a collaboration. Speaking of collaboration: we've also learned to work with journalists. They kept us sharp on relevance, timing, and tone. Their feedback, sometimes friendly and sometimes with a critical tone, made our product better. They reminded us that PR is not a broadcasting channel but a dialogue. That every pitch starts with listening to what someone truly needs, something we also try to teach our users as well.
A platform built by everyone who uses it
Five years later, Presscloud is not just our work, but that of thousands of users who teach us something every day. Their stories, successes, and frustrations have shaped us into what we are now (from collaborations to awards and recognitions).
So, this anniversary is not so much a milestone as it is a moment to pause and thank those who have made us smarter than we were. And to continue building with that same curiosity for the next five years.
